Difficulty in doing laser over lipoatrophy of cheek – A simple solution
How to cite this article: Gorai S. Difficulty in doing laser over lipoatrophy of cheek – A simple solution. CosmoDerma 2023;3:75.
Cheek lipoatrophy, most commonly known with human immunodeficiency virus, also might happen with genetic predisposition at an early age. In such patient, it is tough to perform CO2 or other types of resurfacing laser as we cannot stretch the concave skin to deliver the energy at scar surface [Figure 1a].
A simple modification of putting a rolled gauge piece between the cheek from inside and the teeth will make the outer surface convex and make it very easy to deliver the laser energy [Figure 1b].
