A 22-year-old male with history of hypospadiasis had undergone urethroplasty soon after birth. He had undergone subsequently numerous urethroplasty procedures for the same, the last being 2 years ago. The last surgery was reconstructive urethroplasty with graft taken from the skin of penis and external urethral meatus was created on the ventral aspect of the penis. Following this, the patient noticed hair growing around the urethra and was referred to us. On examination, there was dark coarse terminal hair surrounding the external urethral meatus on the ventral aspect of the shaft of the penis at 6’o clock position [Figure 1]. Cystoscopy examination showed the hair extending 9 cm into the urinary tract. Hair bearing urethral grafts used for hypospadiasis are known to cause hair growth around the urethra in addition to stones, hairballs, fistula, and diverticula. Surgeons instill thioglycolate solution, a depilating chemical post-surgery to prevent hair growth. We are planning diode laser epilation for this patient.[1]
