PROBLEM

Microneedling is a safe and successful process for percutaneous collagen induction and topical medicine administration in skin rejuvenation and the treatment of facial scars.[1,2] A dermaroller is widely used for this. Dermarollers, on the other hand, are not appropriate for treating sporadic small lesions such as acne and chicken pox scars, post injury linear scar. To treat these scars, we need a dermapen. In the absence of dermapen, dermaroller spot microneedling of lesions is challenging.

SOLUTION

To compensate for the lack of dermapen, a piece of leucoplast adhesive tape is designed for round, linear, or rectangular lesions [Figure 1]. The customized tape is applied to the scar to allow for spot microneedling using a dermaroller. Microneedling on a minor scar may be done safely and precisely by shielding the surrounding normal skin.
